Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice, Translated in Thai
ด้วยสหประชาชาติได้ประกาศให้ปี 2011 เป็นปีเคมีสากล หรือ International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC 2011) ตามการนำเสนอของ UNESCO และ IUPAC สมาคมเคมีแห่งประเทศไทยฯ จึงได้จัดพิมพ์หนังสือ “Green Chemistry: ทฤษฎีและการปฏิบัติ” จำนวน 1000 เล่ม เพื่อเผยแพร่โดยแจกให้กับสมาชิกฟรี และไม่มีจำหน่าย และยังได้มอบหนังสือ Green Chemistry ให้กับภาควิชาเคมี มหาวิทยาลัยทั่วประเทศไทย เพื่อใช้เป็นเอกสารอ้างอิง ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมหนี่งในการร่วมฉลองปีเคมีสากลของสมาคมเคมีแห่งประเทศไทยฯ หนังสือเล่มนี้ได้แปลและเรียบเรียงจากหนังสือ “Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice” ซึ่งเปรียบเสมือนเป็นคัมภีร์ทาง Green Chemistry

To meet the goals of IYC2011 under the theme “Chemistry- our life, our future”, Green Chemistry is a key of success!.
 
According to the 11th National Economic and Social Development Plan of the country, directed to the Green Economics, the translation project is one of the strategies to make society awared of Green Chemistry in Thailand. In recognition of its importance, the Chemical Society of Thailand under the Patronage of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn obtained official permission from Oxford University Press to translate the book, entitled “Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice” in Thai. Now, the 1000 printed books, covering 140 pages (ISBN 978-974-350-490-7) have been launched out in 2011 and free distribution to public. This book was translated by Associate Professor Dr.Supawan Tantayanont, the President of the Chemical Society of Thailand and Assistant Professor Dr. Korbratna Kriausakul. Both translators are academic staffs of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University.
 
During the exhibition of International Year of Chemistry which will be organized from February 29, 2012 till the end of March 2012 at Charmchuree Square, 4th floor, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, the Green Chemistry book will be distributed for everyone. It is nice to have a look and learn more about the theory and how to practice in daily life as well as in Science.
