Wiley and the Chemical Society of Thailand have joined forces in creating the Wiley-CST Award for Outstanding Publication 2008. The aim of the award has been to encourage and recognize the original, innovative, and outstanding research being carried out by young Thai chemists working in the chemical sciences, defined as "chemistry and
those disciplines and technologies that make significant use of chemistry", at the outset of their independent research careers.

The award will consist of USD1,500 in cash and USD500 in Wiley book vouchers (Wiley print books), which will be awarded during the Pure and Applied Chemistry International Conference (PACCON2009), January 14-16, 2009 in Naresuan University, Phitsanulok, Thailand.

APPLICATION

Applicants must submit the following items by e-mail or air mail to the Secretary General:

1. A completed application form.

2. A copy or reprint of his/her most outstanding publication.

3. An updated Curriculum Vitae (date of birth should be included).

RULES

1. Applicant must be Thai nationality with age under 40 on December 31, 2008.

2. Applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry.

3. The publication must not be part of the applicant's work toward any degree.

4. Applicant must be the corresponding author of the submitted publication. If not, he/she must be the first author and the publication should be exceptionally outstanding. The publication will be considered with preference, if the whole work or most of the work has been carried out in Thailand.

DEADLINE

- Completed applications must be received at the CST secretariat by December 19, 2008. The incomplete applications will not be considered.
